Project Summary

This study is a secondary data analysis of the most recent version of the Early Head Start Family and Child Experiences Study (Baby FACES 2022). Building on a resilience framework, the main objective of the proposed study is to examine the ways in which unique profiles of family- and program- strengths are associated with social-emotional well-being among young children participating in Early Head Start (EHS) programs.

The specific aims of the study are to:

  1. Identify profiles of unique family strengths and examine their associations with child social-emotional well-being.

  2. Identify profiles of EHS program strengths and examine their associations with child social-emotional well-being.

  3. Test whether the associations between family and program strengths profiles and child social-emotional well-being vary across racial/ethnic groups, with a focus on Black and Hispanic children.
