Öznur Bayar

Öznur Bayar, is an international postdoctoral scholar in the THRIVE Lab at The Ohio State University College of Social Work. She earned her doctoral degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from Hacettepe University in Türkiye in 2023.

Dr. Bayar’s research focuses on resilience in the aftermath of child maltreatment. She is particularly interested in identifying protective and promotive factors, such as positive childhood experiences, that support mental health and well-being following adversity. Her broader research interests include gender equality, counselor self-care, and self-compassion

Before joining OSU, Dr. Bayar served as an Assistant Professor at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in Türkiye and as a visiting scholar at OSU in 2022.
